1. Central Business District (CBD)
CBD of Seoul is located in Jung-gu and Jongno-gu. It also accommodates the most famous shopping area of Korea, Myeong-dong.

It has been the central business/commercial district of Korea since the late 14th century from the beginning of the Joseon Dynasty.
Hanyang (the old name for Seoul) in the 19th century
Due to the long history of functioning as a CBD, this area has the key government offices, foreign embassies and now the headquarters of most Korean conglomerates, Korean branch offices of many international companies.
Comparing the other business districts in the capital area of Korea, it is relatively hard to define its major identity or better say it has multiple identities of the business, financial, commercial, and administrative districts all together.

Since this area has been the center of Seoul for centuries, all kinds of amenities that developed randomly over the period give the area not-so-organized streetscape yet the convenience of operating a business.
Major tenants of CBD: Hyundai, LG, SK, AIG, Korea branch office of Microsoft, Citigroup, Fujitsu, Standard Chartered, McDonald's, Morgan Stanley, Meritz Asset Management, Fox Network, Expedia etc.
